The Philadelphia Phillies blew a 3-0 lead in the 7th inning and fell to the Miami Marlins 7-4! However, the blown lead and loss may be the easier pill to swallow in comparison to both Bryce Harper (hamstring) and Kyle Schwarber (Groin) suffering injuries.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson didn’t have much to offer as far as the severity of the injuries after the game saying he’d “have to wait until tomorrow to check [them] out.”

Up 3 runs with 2 outs in the 7th inning, Zack Wheeler looked to be well on his way to his 10th win of the season. Then after he surrendered a 2-out single to Otto Lopez, Wheeler went up 0-2 on Ali Sanchez. The Phillies’ starter then pained the outside corner with a 95mph fastball for what should have been an inning ending called strike three, BUT home plate umpire Emil Jimenez called it outside. Sanchez went on to have a 10 pitch at bat and win it with a single to center field. The floodgates opened. Matt Strahm entered the game and gave up four runs.

Phillies did tie the game at 4 in the bottom of the 7th on an Alec Bohm RBI sac fly. Then give the lead right back in the top of the 8th, then Jeff Hoffman allowed a solo homer to Jake Burger and it was all Marlins after that.
