The Philadelphia Phillies FINALLY snapped their season-long 6-game losing streak as they blanked the Mariners, 6-0 Sunday afternoon in Seattle! Zack Wheeler tossed a gem as the bats blasted 4 homers in the win!

After game two’s 10-inning affair that featured the offense putting up 5 runs and 6 pitchers being used, the Phillies needed two things in this game; another sign that the bats were alive and a dominant performance from an ace. They Got Both!

Zack Wheeler tossed 8 innings of scoreless baseball while Kyle Schwarber led off the game with a homer run. Both set the tone for the Phillies’ first win in 6 games.

Wheeler struck out 9 in his outing while only allowing 2 hits and 1 walk as he improved to 11-5 on the season.

Schwarber’s homer was his 23rd on the season. Bryson Stott (8th), Bryce Harper (25th) and Alec Bohm (12th) all homered later in the game as well as part of a 5-run 8th inning.

The game also featured a series of circus catches. The most important to the Phillies was made by Brandon Marsh in the 7th inning. After it appeared Marsh lost a Jorge Polanco fly ball to deep right center field in the sun, Marsh just held up his mitt and the ball fell right in for the first out of the inning.
