The Philadelphia Phillies dropped their 4th game of their last 5 as they fell to the Minnesota Twins 7-2!

The game started strong for the Phillies as Bryce Harper hit his 23rd homer of the season, a 2-run shot in the 1st, but the Phillies were only able to get 2 more hits in the game after Harper’s home run. They went 8.2 innings, without getting a runner in scoring position. That trend was only bucked in the 9th, when Alec Bohm was awarded 2nd base on an E6 that trickled into the Phillies dugout.

Ranger Suarez wasn’t awful by any means, but he still wasn’t the all-star caliber pitcher we’ve seen for most of the season. The lefty went 5.1ip allowing 3 runs on 7 hits while throwing 79 pitches. The Phils had Suarez on a pitch limit of 80 pitches being that this was his first start since the break and since dealing with back spasms.

After Suarez’ early exit, the Bullpen allowed 4 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks. Yunior Marte pitched the 8th for the Phillies and appeared to lose his footing consistently. He was responsible for 3 of the Twins walks.

The Phillies offense didn’t do much to help the cause.
