Phillips allowed just 4 hits over his 6 scoreless on his way to improving to 2-0 in his 2 starts. He also struck out 3.

Westin Wilson got the Phillies on the board in the 2nd inning with a sac fly RBI that brought home Alec Bohm. Then Garrett Stubbs made it a 2-0 lead with an RBI single that brought in Edmundo Sosa. Phillies padded their lead in the 7th inning, when Kyle Schwarber appeared to ground into an inning ending double play. However, Pirates’ shortstop O’Neil Cruz dropped the toss from second baseman Gonzales that would have resulted in an inning ending 4-6-3 double play. Instead, the Phillies tacked on 3 more runs after the error. Trea Turner, Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm all came up with RBIs in the inning.

In the 9th, Nick Castellanos added one more run with his 14th homer of the season.
