The Red Sox dropped a 10-6 decision to the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night and the series is even at 1-1 with 1 more to go. The Sox are now 2-3 on their current 6-game homestand and 3-8 on their homestand. The Red Sox committed 2 errors in the Mariners 5-run 5th inning. James Paxton took the loss. Rafael Devers hit a 3-run Home Run in the setback. Dylan Moore had a 3-run Double in the M's big 5th and he had 2 Doubles on the night.

Paxton Back in the Mix- James Paxton made his return to the Red Sox after being acquired from the Dodgers last week and was tagged with the loss Paxton gave up a run in the first on a 2-out, RBI single from Justin Turner. Yes. That Justin Turner, who was picked up from the Blue Jays on Monday and Tuesday was Turner's Seattle debut. He told the media prior to the game that he knew more people on the Red Sox side then he did with his new club. Paxton allowed a 2-out solo Home Run to Jorge Polanco that got the Mariners to within a run at 3-2. He was removed from the game in the 5th and saw his infield commit 2 errors in the frame.

Ugly 5th- Mariners ended up sending 11 hitters to the plate and scored 7 runs against Paxton and reliever Zack Kelly in the 5th. Kelly gave up a 3-run Double to Dylan Moore that made it, 7-3. Yohan Ramrirez replaced Kelly and promptly hit the first batter that he faced to load up the bases. He came back and got the next hitter to leave the bases loaded. Red Sox had a sloppy inning with 2 errors.

Devers Goes Deep: Rafael Devers gave the Sox their 1st lead of the night with 1 swing of the bat. Devers hit a 3-run Home Run over the Green Monster to make it 3-1. Sox for the 2nd straight night breaking through against Seattle's starter in the 3rd inning and have scored 10 runs in the 3rd inning over the 1st 2 Game. Devers had gone 10 games without a home run. It was his 24th of the season and the 196th in the Big Leagues.

What's Next? Mariners and Red Sox wrap up their series Wednesday afternoon. Brayan Bello goes against George Kirby with 1st pitch set for 4:10 p.m. EST.

The Red Sox open up a 6-game road trip with the 1st of 3 against the Rangers Friday night.
