The Red Sox lost the series finale, 4-1, to the Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit Sunday afternoon. Sox won the opener Friday night but lost the next 2 and are back to 3. Games above .500 with 25 games left in the Regular Season. Sox are 5-9 over their last 14 games.

-----

Strong Start: Cooper Criswell made the start in the finale for the Red Sox and on Sunday and he was terrific, retiring all 12 hitters that he faced over the 1st 4 Innings. He struck out 5 and got 4 groundball outs. Plenty questioning on "Social Media" as to why Criswell was pulled after 4 "perfect" Innings and 52 pitches (35 strikes).

#64's Line: 4 IP. 0 H. 0 R. 0 ER. 0 BB. 5 K.

-----

2-Out Magic: It took until the 5th Inning, but the Red Sox got on the board 1st. Brant Hurter struck out the 1st 2 hitters in the 5th, but 3 straight hitters each reached with hits. Romy Gonzalez got things going with a single. Gonzalez went 1st to 3rd on a single by Nick Sogard and he scored on a 2-out RBI Single from Jarren Duran.

-----

1st Out of the Pen: Rich Hill entered in the 5th inning for his 2nd straight outing and 3rd since Thursday when he made his season debut at home against the Blue Jays. Hill walked the leadoff hitter and after a strike out, Spencer Torkelson gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead with a 2-run Home Run to leftfield. It was the 1st hit of the game for the Tigers and the 1st hit allowed on the season by Hill.

-----

Adding On- Tigers made it a 4-1 ballgame in the Bottom of the 6th with Riley Greene hitting a 2-run Home Run off of reliever Zack Kelly. Did you know that Greene and Vaughn Grissom (Still with Triple-A Worcester) were high school teammates at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida? Both were selected in the 2019 1st-year Player Draft.

-----

Scuffling at the Dish I: Rafael Devers broke his 0-for-10 slide at the plate with 2-out Single in the 4th Inning. Devers went hitless in 9 at-bats over the 1st 2 Games of the Series. Devers has 3 RBIs in his last 11 Games.

-----

Scuffling at the Dish II: Tristan Casas walked in his 1st Plate Appearance Sunday and then popped up on the infield for the final out of the 4th to extend his slump to 0-for-16. He broke that slide with a 2-out Single in the 6th Inning. He was left stranded.

-----

Scuffling at the Dish III: Sox collected six hits, all singles, in Sunday's loss. Sox have gone 13 straight games without collecting 10 or more hits in a game. Club has Single-Digit hit totals in 20 of its last 25 Games.

-----

A Look Ahead: The Red Sox are off to New York and begin a 3-Game Series against the Mets at Citi Field Monday night.

Scheduled Starters: Brayan Bello vs. Luis Severino.

Tuesday: Kutter Crawford vs. David Peterson.

Wednesday: Tanner Houck vs. Tylor Megill

-----

Locked On Red Sox POSTCAST Notes:

The Red Sox are 13-5 over last 18 vs. Tigers.

The Red Sox are now 12-15 vs. AL Central Teams with Sunday's Loss.
