Detroit Tigers fell to the Atlanta Braves in MLB action at Truist Park in Atlanta. Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize struggled early, allowing two runs over four innings, giving the Braves an early lead they never relinquished. Gio Urshela drove in the Tigers' only run with a single in the sixth inning, bringing Riley Greene home after Greene tripled. Despite a robust effort from the Tigers offense, which collected five hits, the team couldn't overcome the strong pitching of Atlanta's Spencer Schwellenbach, who struck out seven over six innings. Detroit's bullpen, led by Beau Brieske and Andrew Chafin, kept the game close by holding the Braves scoreless over the final four innings, but it wasn't enough. Casey Mize's ERA now stands at 4.43 as the Tigers look to regroup in their next series.
