To be a trader or a producer of goods, that is the question.
First, think of the potential markets you can enter as a producer, then think of the potential markets you can open as a trader.
With those pictures in mind, the answer to this question is really quite simple: why not be both?
In today’s episode, Roberto Echeverría Botero, Managing Director of Latin America at CREMER OLEO, chats to Carsten about CREMER’s strategy as a producer and trader, and why Latin America is the market of the future.
You'll learn:
1. Why CREMER's strategy is to be both the trader and producer of goods
2. The infrastructural challenges of logistics in Latin America
3. Why CREMER adopts a long-term perspective for building trust with clients
About Roberto:
Born and raised in Colombia, Roberto Echeverría Botero moved to Germany at age 18 to pursue a university-degree in business administration and international trade. He joined the CREMER Group in Hamburg in 2014 to lead business units in Europe. Beyond his responsibilities in Germany, he built up successful companies for CREMER in Brazil, Paraguay, and Colombia. In 2021, Roberto moved back to Colombia to establish the regional headquarters of the CREMER OLEO in Latin America. Today, as Managing Director for the continent, he oversees the areas of production, trade and logistics from Bogotá.
