Our guest is Richard Boddington is a film director, writer, editor, cinematographer and television producer. His feature films include Dark Reprieve (2008) and the family comedy film, The Dogfather (2010). Boddington’s third feature film, Against the Wild (2014), was nominated for an Emmy Award, achieved worldwide distribution and received the Director's Choice Grand Prize at the 2013 Rhode Island International Film Festival. In May 2015 Boddington filmed Against the Wild 2: Survive the Serengeti in South Africa. The film is a sequel to Against the Wild and was released into US theatres on 2016. It went on to air on many of the world's biggest broadcasters, including TF1 in France, STARZ in the USA, Antenna 3 in Spain, and Channel 5 in the UK. His most recent project, Phoenix Wilder: And The Great Elephant Adventure, releases nationwide on 700+ theatres in the USA on April 16th, 2018. When Phoenix Wilder, a 13-year-old orphaned American boy, receives word that he is to live with his only surviving relative, his Aunt Sarah who lives in Africa with her husband, “Uncle Jack,” Phoenix quickly falls in love with his new surroundings. However, while out on safari with his uncle, Phoenix becomes lost from the rest of the party and must quickly learn to survive in the African bush. As the search for Phoenix continues, the boy becomes fast friends with a giant bull elephant he was able to free from a trap. Phoenix names the elephant Indlovu, and as they begin to bond, Phoenix decides to try to stop the band of poachers who prey on African elephants.
