I recently started listening to the audiobook, Think Like a Breadwinner. The author encourages women to learn how to sustain themselves. She uses her story as a cautionary tale to women to not put their heads in the sand when it comes to their finances. She said that as a child she was fed a narrative that she would be taken care of when she got married. It got me thinking about my own ideas about money that were formed in childhood. They were shaped by a totally different narrative.
