Catcher for the Chicago White Sox Alex Avila talks about his family's rich legacy of baseball as his grandfather, Ralph Avila, was the founder and director of Campo Las Palmas, the Dodger's Dominican academy and his father's experience in baseball as Al Avila is now the general manager of the Detroit Tigers. Avila also talks about Tommy Lasorda as he is Ralph's best friend and Dominican brother. Alex's middle name is Thomas, named after Tommy. He also talks about growing up at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, FL as well as spending summers at Campo Las Palmas with his grandfather and learning the game there.
