李 恵珍さんは韓国のソウルで生まれ育ち、東京の一橋大学大学院にて博士号を取得。日韓の移民政策を研究の専門とする李さんはその後、日本国際交流センター(JCIE)に就職し、現在シニア・プログラム・オフィサーを務めています。JCIEでの仕事を通じた国際貢献の傍ら、移住者支援活動にも参加されており、いくつもの著書を出していらっしゃいます。インタビューでは日韓それぞれの移民制度の変遷を踏まえて、今後日本がいかに国際化すべきかについて話し合っています。

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Hyejin Lee came to Japan in 2003 and went on to complete her PhD in sociology at Tokyo's Hitotsubashi University. An expert in Japanese and Korean immigration policy, Lee found work at the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE), where she currently serves as a senior program officer. Alongside her work at JCIE, she has published numerous works and also supports migrant laborers as a volunteer. In this episode, we look at changes and differences in Japanese and Korean immigration policy overtime, and discuss ways in which Japan can continue to internationalize moving forward.
