Stu and Ed discuss Side A of Iron Maiden's fourth studio album, Piece of Mind. The classic Maiden lineup is finally together with Nicko McBrain joining on drums. This album marks the beginning of a narrative journey for the depiction of Eddie in the band's artwork, with the album cover showing him in a straight-jacket, with a visible lobotomy scar, which he will carry forward for many albums to come.

The guys also discuss the folly of Icarus and how Ed's views have changed regarding the guitar tones on this album.

The album was released on May 28, 1983, peaking at #3 and spending 18 weeks on the UK charts.

The was also the band's best selling album in North America so far peaking at #14 on the Billboard 200. It was certified gold in the US by July and platinum in 1986. It went platinum in the UK in 1995.
