Kamal Johnson is the first Black mayor of Hudson, NY--and its youngest. In our conversation, he talks about how his early years shaped the person and leader he has become. He describes his vision of governance as an all-hands-on-deck endeavor, seeking out people and partnerships that will help the citizens of Hudson. He speaks with authenticity, honesty, and vulnerability and acknowledges that what he does, he can't do alone. That acknowledgment is part of his moxie.
In this episode, we're joined by Griffin Cooper, senior staff writer and reporter for Main Street Magazine's print and digital content. He has covered Kamal Johnson over the past several years, highlighting his campaign and initiatives on behalf of Hudson, NY.
