The Secret is a self help book that came out in 2006 Simply put its the law of attraction The law of attraction states that whatever consumes your thoughts is what you will eventually get in life It is not the first book of this type to come out Napoleon Hills Think and Grow Rich came after The Great Depression in 1936 focused intently on making money and getting rich Norman Vincent Peales The Power of Positive Thinking launched after World War II in 1952 focused on creating a calm and happy domestic life with good relationships Tony Robbins unlimited power and Unleash the Giant Within came in the 80s focused on selfactualization and living up to ones potential for all the baby boomer with midlife crises Rhonda Byrnes The Secret launched amid the social mediasmartphone age and brings a Im the center of the universe angle to the same old ideaPrevious selfhelp authors never bothered trying to explain why the law of attraction works Byrne argues that the reason The Secret works is because the Universe is made up of energy and as Einstein taught us matter can be converted to energy and vice versa and all energy has a frequency Your thoughts also emit a frequency and like attracts like therefore the frequency of your thoughts good or bad will resonate with the frequency of other energies good or bad in The UniverseSo does The Secret work or is the law of attraction complete bullshit We blindside TJ on this weeks episode by tricking him into thinking the episode was about telling secrets but in reality the secret was we were going to tell him about a book that he refuses to read
