38. Finding Your Authentic Self Inside The Morning Pages with Bernette Louw
Manage episode 435330868 series 3556994
Today I’m chatting with Namibian artist Bernette Louw who shares her story of how she went from living for everyone else, to finding a way to start living for herself. From always outwardly focused, busy and distracted, to inner peace, clarity and discernment.
Bernette joined my group facilitation of The Artist’s Way (a book on unblocking your creativity by Julia Cameron) and credits one of the key tools, the Morning Pages, with helping her to:
· Connect with her true self and inner power
· Gain clarity on the fears and anxiety that had been holding her back
· Realize how harshly she had been treating herself
· Free herself from shame, guilt and criticism and become her own best friend
· Discover a hidden passion for painting
Listen as Bernette reveals the two ingredients that were key in creating her most fulfilling life.
These days Bernette enjoys what she calls her wonderful, simple life by the sea. For someone who had never picked up a paintbrush and had no formal art training, Bernette is now a full-time artist, crafting unique pieces of art out of paper mâché. Catch her next exhibition at the Bellhaus Art Gallery in Windhoek, Namibia from 10 October – 2 November, 2024.
