Aaron Starks is the CEO & President of 47G, formerly known as the Utah Aerospace & Defense Association. The organization's mission is to build the word's premiere ecosystem for aerospace and defense companies, and they're doing just that. 47G has hundreds of members in and out of Utah that are making waves in not only the aerospace and defense industries, but in Utah's economy.
Some of the biggest players in the industry call Utah home:

  • Boeing manufactures 80% of its 87 cockpits in West Jordan, Utah
  • Utah is Delta's fastest growing hub in the United States and just made a historic investment in expanding their Utah pilot operations facility
  • Northrop Grumman facilitated $1 trillion of transactions on the ICBM program alone

Plus Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Hill AFB, NSA, and 800+ small to mid-market aerospace and defense companies, academic institutions, and more, are foundational to Utah's aerospace market. Many of these organizations are manufacturers with defense contracts building highly technical products.
47G is leading the charge to convene both large and small players and advocate for their futures and overall success.
In this episode you will learn:

  • What Project Alta is and how it will make the '60s cartoon The Jetsons come to life in Utah in the next decade
  • What products are being made for aerospace in Utah
  • How 47G helps small businesses work with the Boeings of the industry
  • Why there is a decrease in successful aerospace entrepreneurs and what 47G is doing to change that
  • How Hill AFB plays a critical role in Utah's economy
  • How the Space Dynamic Lab in Logan, Utah outshines NASA in some areas
  • How we're attracting companies to Utah to further strengthen the economy

iMpact Utah and 47G have some exciting collaborations coming up. Stay tuned!
