How teaching English and creating art in China quickly turned from a dream opportunity into a nightmare experience. There are experiences that will forever change the lens through which we see and experience life - for better or for worse. This was the case for Chancellor. Chancellor K. Jackson is an artist that thrives in all mediums. His love of art began in his formative years but really came into focus when he was able to leave his childhood home in Fulton County, Georgia to teach English in China. He was living out his dreams. One night, he found himself being interviewed in his apartment in Beijing. Things escalated quickly and he spent fourteen days in Chinese incarceration. In this episode of Man Versus Brand, we discuss his journey to China, the importance of art in his life and what he learned from his fourteen day experience. We talk about how his time in China has informed his art, what he is hopeful about in the future as a free man and how his book release thrived during Covid. Check out this episode of Man Versus Brand. Check out Chancellor’s book “14 Days in Beijing.” This story is loosely based on his own experience and told through the eyes of his protagonist, Lucky Chance. Check out this episode now.
