今天早上我去上班的时候，因为起床起得有点晚，所以我不得不打车去上班。

这样可以让我快一点到上班的地方。

打车，哎？打不是beat，不是“打别人”的那个打吗？

我为什么要打车呢？

其实打车的意思就是take taxi 打车。

我有的时候会选择打车去上班，因为会比起坐公共交通工具快很多。

公共交通工具就是public transport。

现在打车的话基本上有两种方法，第一种就是普通的、最传统的方法。

也就是站在路边见到有空车就向它招手。

空车就是vacant taxi。

空指的是empty，所以空车empty taxi。

另外一种方法就是使用一些手机上的软件，也就是apps 软件，或者叫它们 A P P。

在手机上也可以直接约到一些出租车。

那么这些出租车我们可以叫它们“网约车”。

网上来预约的车，网约车。

现在因为网约车非常方便，而且他们的服务也通常比较好，所以变得越来越受欢迎了。

This morning when I went to work, as I got up a bit late, I had no choice but to "beat a car" (take a taxi) to work. This way allows me to get to my workplace quicker. 打车 ("Beat a car"?) Isn't 打 the same as in "bearing others" “打别人”? Why would I "beat a car"? Actually, 打车's meaning is to take a taxi. Another way is to use some apps on mobile phones. That is, apps, 软件, or call them A P P. On phone, (you) can also directly book a few taxis. So, for these taxis, we call them "online ride-hailing vehicles". Vehicles that are hailed through online booking. Nowadays, as these vehicles are very convenient, and their services are usually better, they became more and more popular.
