Jo’s work is concerned with the problems of cultural, racial and social disruption and displacement, particularly in the Middle East and Syria where she has family roots. Her exhibition including a central installation, drawings and paintings is the product of an Arts Council funded residency at ArtWork Atelier. Jo's website: http://www.joscorah.co.uk/ Suite Studios: http://www.suite-studiogroup.co.uk/ In the interview Jo mentions a couple of interesting links: Name of the TED Speaker is Dr Aala-El-Khani and her talk 'From Bombs to Bread' can be watched on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9DdIiv-Gts You can find the video 'From Syria to Scotland' by Dr Shameela Islam-Zulfiqar on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/176293325 This short film provides a fascinating insight to life on Bute Island after the arrival of 15 Syrian refugee families.
