14 Displaced in Easter Sunday Fire
On Easter Sunday, a fire at the Upland Townhomes on Mableton Parkway in Mableton resulted in the displacement of 14 individuals. The incident occurred in the morning, with the exact time yet to be determined. Firefighting crews managed to limit the damage to three units. Among those affected was Patricia McGowan, who had planned a festive activity for the day but was forced to flee amidst smoke and confusion.

The swift response from Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services, arriving within four minutes upon noticing a significant plume of smoke, prevented further devastation. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire might have originated from an unattended cooking or grease fire. Witnesses and neighbors recounted the urgent evacuations and the extensive efforts by firefighters to control the situation. The Red Cross is currently providing assistance to those displaced by the fire.
