Wind Of Change was originally written and recorded 1991, following a trip by the German band Scorpions to the USSR. It topped the charts in Germany and across Europe, in the US and in the UK and has since gone on to become a song associated with the fall of the Berlin Wall. It remains the top selling German single to date. However the song has recently been the subject of a podcast which explores the rumour that it was, in fact, written by the CIA.
