Learn what an investment thesis is and why it’s good to have one before jumping on a stock buying bandwagon. We’ll also show you how to start finding ideas using your thesis with stock screeners (they're free)!
Think about what you know is happening in the world or something anecdotal you saw on social media. For example, currently, we’re facing constrained labor supply, issues with housing, and there’s an aging population leaving the workforce - what are the sectors that are potentially going to solve these problems or see some gains from these events? That’s your thesis, now let’s find ideas with free research tools!
We share our screen in this episode to show how a screener works. You can watch us go over that on YouTube.
Things We Talked About:

  • What is an investment thesis?
  • Macro/Micro Headwinds and Tailwinds
  • The 11 Different Sectors - they’re all around you
  • Every stock has a sector - when researching, start with the sector
  • Find ideas using your investment thesis with stock screeners
  • Where are people spending money? What’s a solution to a current problem?

You can have your own criteria for what makes a good investment for you, and we will do episodes on strategy, risk tolerance, and diversification soon - subscribe and stay tuned!
