On today's episode of Married Life Management Podcast, I am talking about why we must not avoid dealing with all sorts of traumas in our lives.
Trauma can be an extremely distressful and upsetting experience that has lasting consequences in an individual's life. Recognizing and responding to its impact is essential in moving forward and healing; unfortunately, many avoid their trauma out of fear, shame, or a lack of understanding on how best to handle it.
Ignoring trauma in marriage can be extremely damaging. Unaddressed trauma from either partner can create conflict, communication breakdown and an overall lack of emotional intimacy - making it crucial that both partners identify and address any trauma intentionally to ensure a strong and fulfilling relationship.
Identification of trauma can be a challenging task, but it is crucial that you first recognize that you have been exposed to it and its effect. Watch for patterns of behaviour, emotions, or thoughts related to trauma; seek support from a therapist or support group and seek counselling services as necessary in order to work through your experience and develop coping mechanisms.
Finding solutions proactively is also essential, meaning actively searching out resources and support systems to assist with healing from trauma, such as therapy, self-care practices or support groups. Keep in mind that healing from trauma takes time, patience and perseverance - you need not do it all alone!
Avoiding trauma may seem tempting, but doing so could have lasting repercussions for individuals and relationships alike. It is vitally important that trauma be identified and addressed deliberately in order to move forward and build healthy and fulfilling relationships - with proper support and resources, healing from trauma is achievable.
I believe after listening to this episode, you will identify your trauma and fins solutions for them.
