Gloria Woodland (Chaplaincy Program Director at MB Seminary) gives a brief overview of the Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program and her thoughts on the recent decision to delay the expansion of the program to include persons suffering solely from a mental illness. She speaks to why Christians should be concerned about expanding the eligibility criteria and how loneliness contributes to individuals seeking out MAiD. Gloria also shares her perspective on MAiD’s impact on the medical professionals, patients, patients’ families and Christians across Canada.
