Welcome to Episode 48- An interview with Michelle Shekhinah (FROM THE FLOOR TO THE DOOR) Michelle was married for many years and was a stay at home Mom for 2 children. In 2015, Michelle realized that her husband was addicted to drugs. In this time, she had experienced financial, emotional and sexual abuse from him, which turned into his sex trafficking her. Michelle spent many nights crying on the floor, until one night she saved her life, and ran for the door. Since then, she has been healing herself, with therapy and other techniques. She has become a strong Mom for her children, in addition to being an advocate and mentor for other women and teens who have suffered any form of trauma and abuse. Her story is compelling, heartbreaking, and yet full of hope and reconconciliation.Michelle Shekhinah. She is a survivor like myself and others out there who have lived and survived an abusive relationship. The tides are changing. There is a community that supports, are allies, advocate, fighters, survivors and above all liberating people who are in bondages. She went from Surviving to thriving. This does not mean she doesn't go through moments of Trauma. She has leaned her faith in God above all to help her heal through this experience. She made her connection to also what Jeffrey Epstein subjected his unsuspecting victims. This can leave you with guilt and shame. Therapy is also a big part of her recovery. Her story brought me to tears because I just wanted to reach out through my computer and give her a big hug. A healing hug. In 1997, I married who I thought was my fairytale, knight in shining armor. After having a successful business and 2 children, I was a stay at home Mom for many years. In 2014, my life started to unravel. Things escalated quickly, and the next thing I knew, I was being sexually abused by my husband, which turned into his sex trafficking me. I spent many nights crying on the floor of my home, realizing that I was in a very dangerous situation. With fear running through my body, and hope in my heart, I ran for the door and got out. I saved myself! Since then, I have spent years in therapy, working in a profession to support myself, and strengthened my spirit so that I may be the strong Mom that my children need me to be. I have also become an advocate and mentor for other women and teens that have experienced any form of trauma and abuse. I survived for a reason... I am a Woman of Valor, the daughter of the most Almighty. A Goddess of the Universe. There have been many before me, including my own ancestors.

We have been touched by love, and also touched by evil. We have been used as a brick to hold up malalignments for someone else. We have been touched, hit, slapped, held down, yelled at, lied to, threatened, strangled, drugged, betrayed, humiliated, and raped. We have been put on display, sold, photographed, and recorded. We have been told what to say, eat, drink, wear, look like, think, and spend. All by only one, or by few, perhaps by many. In private, and in public.

Some have succumbed to the demands, some have left this Earth, either by circumstances or by choice. All of us though, have fought for our lives.

We cried, we hid, we pretended to sleep, we slept on floors, we screamed into pillows, we locked ourselves in closets. We put on a brave face, we smiled when the pain of a fire burned inside us as if gasoline was swallowed.

Some of us, with fear deep in our core, hope in our hearts, and adrenaline running through our veins, we ran, we left, we got out. For some of us it took years. Years of questioning, doubting, pretending, praying, and surviving it all. Then with all that fear, mixed with faith, hope, and courage, we saved ourselves. We did it!

For us, the tiny glimmer of hope, a moment that we waited for, revealed itself. The sign came when we saw somewhere out there, a light was shining brightly, and we ran towards it...
