How do you survive a war? How do you cope with violence surrounding you from all sides? What if you find yourself in front of the barrel of the gun, the target itself?

Or what if you find yourself aiming your gun, being the one pulling the trigger? What happens if that line between life and death becomes narrower and narrower?

How many times can you walk that line, escape death without losing something else? They say wars are fought to be won, but for most, wars are about surviving.

These are stories of those who lived, those who managed to survive, in one way or another, the horrors of battle, the all too close brushes with death. While they did live to tell, their stories are stories of loss, and the loss it took them to survive.

كيف بتنجو من الحرب؟ كيف بتتعامل مع العنف المحيط فيك من جميع الجهات؟ شو بتعمل إذا لقيت حالك قدّام بوز البارودة، إذا لقيت حالك أنت الهدف؟ شو بتعمل إذا اضطرّيت تصوب بارودتك، أو تكون الشخص يلّي بيضغط على الزناد؟ شو بصير إذا صار الخط الفاصل بين الحياة والموت أضيق وأضيق؟ كم مرة بتقدر تمشي هالطريق، تهرب من الموت بدون ما تفقد شي تاني؟ بقولوا إنّه الحروب تُخاض كرمال تنربح، بس بالنسبة للأغلبيّة، الحروب بتتعلّق بصراع البقاء. هيدي قصص يلّي عاشوا، يلّي قدروا ينجوا، بطريقة أو بأخرى، من أهوال المعركة، وكانوا كتير قراب من الموت. صحيح هنّي عاشوا ليخبّروا، بس قصصهم هي قصص عن الخسارة، والخسائر يلّي اضطرّوا يعيشوها ليضلّوا على قيد الحياة.
