A series of lectures, inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, will highlight the University of Edinburgh’s internationally acclaimed medical research and show that keen detective work is still essential for 21st century doctors. Conan Doyle drew inspiration for Sherlock Holmes when he was a medical student at Edinburgh and based his character on the Professor of Medicine Joseph Bell, who was known for his meticulous attention to detail.
