Join our Co-Host Ms. Rae as she interviews...... Rashidah De Vore is a writer, director, photographer, and founder of X MARKS THE BLACK and RDV Commercials (www.rdvcommercials.com). As an only child for several years, the Jamaica, Queens native spent countless hours engrossed in her collection of Afrocentric books and movies – from Anansi the Spider God to Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears – contributing early on to her cultural awareness and pride in being Black. From this, her love of storytelling and capturing an audience through enthralling imagery and prose was sparked. With X Marks The Black Productions, Rashidah will create a collection of film and television pieces that not only celebrate, but acknowledge Black history and culture, and it’s impact within American and global society through the ages. Under the X MARKS THE BLACK umbrella, Rashidah will expand upon her mission of capturing audiences across the media spectrum, as well as create opportunities for other Black artists, filmmakers, and activists to tell their stories and expand their reach – through not only X On Demand’s streaming platform but future divisions of the X brand.
