Welcome to episode 24 of The Shaky Experience “CRL CRRLL Interview”. Your host James Richard Lane speaks volume with Carl Carrell also known as CRL CRRLL. Carl is a DJ and producer based out Denver. He became interested in playing music as a kid. His family influenced him to pursue a career in the industry. Carl recalls his first ever instrument being a drum set. Carl played in a few local bands till he decided he was done with pop music. He then made the transition to follow his passion to DJ and produce music full time. Crl Crrll was voted Westword's 2016 DJ and Producer of the year. Carl has played big festivals including Treefort, SXSW, UMS and Westword Music Showcase. He has also opened up for notable acts including Jamie XX, Washed Out, and many more. Carl recently performed at a Fader Magazine party DJing between Flaurel, Hoops, and Ra Ra Riot. Carl occasionally curates music for Red Bull Sound Select. Carl says one of his favorite shows was performing at The Solution Holiday Party 2016 at Meadowlark playing with Stro Elliot (The Roots). Carl regularly puts out Vlogs updating his fans on his current projects. He also creates a beat a day as part of a project he's created #OneBeatADay. Carl hosts a show called LAB the last Sunday of every month at Meadowlark. The project is to encourage DJ's and producers to come out and play their music live.
