Part of Michael and Carrie Kline's 100-voice oral history project with 30 more musical performances by people along the historic road, themes in this podcast include the Civil War in western Virginia, the birth of West Virginia in the midst of the bloody Civil War, the origins and progression of the oil and gas industry, told by the people who lived it, along with an insider's view of small town life. This project was initiated by the Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike Association, located in Beverly, West Virginia.
