Joel Nilsesteun believes that farmers across Wisconsin really got the message. If you don't like your local roads or bridges - the Agricultural Road Improvement Program(ARIP) may help.
Nilsesteun, Assistant Deputy Secretary at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), says the number of applications received shows that the program was needed, and farmers responded. During the first round, WisDOT received 153 eligible ARIP applications. In total, those applications requested $252 million in infrastructure investment - far beyond the $50 million available in the first round of funding OR the second round of funding that WILL be available totaling $100 million.
Nilsesteun said he expects to make an announcement on funded projects by mid-summer.
