I t's a new month, meaning we begin a new CRAZY 88 PLAYLIST, but in a big way, tonight's show feels like an end. For most people, this week is the end of summer vacation. You're going back to school or back to work, and how bitter sweet that is, right? We're gonna do what we can to turn those SUMMERS END blues into a celebration! How are we doing that? The same way we always do it. With THEE BEST MUSIC selected by our community of late-night music lovers. The first half of the program is packed with hot new sunny vibes from ANNA SOFIA, BASIA BULAT, BETCHA, CHILDISH GAMBINO, DUA LIPA, JESSIE REYEZ, TATE MCRAE, and VICTORIA MONET. For the second half, we open up the REQUEST LINE. Our host, GOBS, gets totally RANDOM in the best way, in an attempt to mix as many different genres of music together as possible. From a 1950s classic by THE COASTERS right up to brand new sounds from MONONOME. CLASSIC ROCK, ITALO DISCO, HAPPY HARDCORE, UK GRIME and EXPERIMENTAL ELECTRONIC sounds all mixed into an adventurous ride. The program opens with a BEASTIE BOYS original to put this summer of hardship into perspective, and concludes with a tribute to CHADWICK BOSEMAN, an artist who inspired so much change in his time, before we say goodbye for another week with a nod to HIP HOP legends, RUN-DMC.
