Richard joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in 1966 and served for 4 years.
In this episode he talks about life growing up, and then joining the USMC at 17 years old to help in the Vietnam War. Doing so, he was first deployed to the Mediterranean until he turned 18, and then deployed to Vietnam.
Richard also shares what it was like to return to the United States from the Vietnam War, and then being selected to be part of the Special Ceremonial Platoon in Washington, D.C. We also discuss Mental Health and Richard talks about writing his book, Kilo 3.
