For Mother’s Day, we were joined by the one and only Carmen Tenuta, along with her kids, Grace and AJ Scalzo. Together, they spill all the tea on what it was like growing up with Carmen: an amazing single mother and an overall witty and energetic powerhouse of a woman. You’ll hear stories from Grace and AJ’s childhood with Carmen, including when AJ discovered the consequences that come from flipping a random stranger off, Wednesday evening pizza nights, dance parties, as well as what growing up in a second-generation immigrant family was like. We also got some hilarious stories out of them, including a herniated disk after dropping it a little too low. What would Mother’s Day be without a little mothering? Grace and AJ give insight into the life lessons passed down from Carmen and the importance humility played in their life growing up, and still to this day. This is a light-hearted, feel-good episode with Milwaukee Uncut’s Mother of the Year that will make you want to call your mom and say, “Thank you. I love you!” Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.…

Founder and former Marine Josh Sparks attended 17 different schools while growing up in foster care before eventually landing in Milwaukee in the early 2000s. That’s where a friend offered him a roofing job — a turning point that would set the course for everything that followed. Starting from zero, Josh built Infinity Exteriors into the largest roofing, siding, and windows company in Wisconsin, with six locations and more than 30,000 households served. So how did it all happen — and what really sets them apart? In this episode, we’re joined by Brand President Mike Saglin, who’s been with Infinity Exteriors for over a decade, and VP of Sales Sam Ward, who’s been with the company for more than 14 years. Together, they share the story behind Infinity’s growth — built not just on hard work, but on a commitment to being upfront with customers, delivering on promises, and doing things the right way every time. We’ll go behind the scenes on Infinity’s rise, hear some crazy stories from jobsites, tips for homeowners and hear Mike and Sam’s hidden gem Milwaukee recommendations. You probably know Northwestern Mutual as the iconic Milwaukee-based financial planning giant that holds a large annual meeting where people flock to our city from all over the country, or as the company that constructed a 32-story skyscraper downtown in 2017 right on the lakefront. That said, there is a lot about Northwestern Mutual you probably don’t know. Founded in 1857 in Janesville, Wisconsin, Northwestern Mutual barely survived its first two years in business after a passenger train and an ox collided outside of Johnson Creek, where 14 lives were lost, two of which were initial Northwestern Mutual policyholders. Shortly after, Northwestern Mutual moved its headquarters to Milwaukee and has been here ever since. But not only is Milwaukee home to the company’s sprawling campus, two significant network offices are located here as well. In this episode we give you a look inside Wisconsin’s largest company (ranking 110 on the Fortune 500 list) by revenue and what its future looks like. Topics covered include: Early beginnings and challenges Pivotal moments in the company's history The 2017 Tower & Commons decision Inside Northwestern Mutual’s business model and its evolution Life insurance Additional insurance solutions Wealth management AI & Future Tech Recent CEO transition Building a culture to last The annual meeting Charitable impact Financial advice And the leaders will share their favorite places around Milwaukee This is a paid advertisement. What's it like to go from no kids to mentoring a high energy 6 year old through BBBS? It's been an adventurous and very rewarding last year. Over a year ago I was looking at volunteer opportunities in the Milwaukee area and wanted to make a difference. I looked into Big Brothers Big Sisters, since I had some friends Glenny Crawford and Dusty Weis that are part of the program and had great things to say about it and the impact that you can have. I also remembered my Dad mentoring through a different program while I was growing up which ultimately inspired me to sign up. And I went through the process applied, got my fingerprints, interviewed with someone from BBBS, went through a training and then they match you with a kid that they feel is a great match. So last January after going through the process I met Rayshawn, a high energy 6 year old at the time and his Mom and everything going approved and we were off. And it’s been an amazing, very eye opening fun year, I had a lot of respect for full time parents before this experience but I can say after being responsible for keeping a 6 year old alive for a few hours a week I’ve got a whole new level of respect for you parents out there who are responsible 24/7. Before we dive in I would like to say if you feel inspired to get involved there is a big need right now as there are 500 kids on the waitlist alone, waiting for a mentor due the demand. And there are more ways to help out then what I do that are a little lower commitment than the “community based mentoring I do” - some are just after school, some are once a month and those are also very important--- so if you are interested at all or have any questions feel free to reach out to me directly happy to help.…

Miguel and Keegan, Tommy G’s two right hand guys who are involved with the productions on a weekly basis join us as well.
