This week on Mind Your Business, NKY!, LINK nky CEO Lacy Starling and business reporter Kenton Hornbeck discuss Kenton's awful golf skills, spending money on vacation and 'Hues of Innovation', a traveling roadshow for black and brown entrepreneurs presented by an organization called "Network & Chill". The event addressed how these entrepreneurs can get access to capital and how NKY can thrive with a diverse workforce.

Then, Lacy sits down with Dr. Fernando Figueroa, President and CEO of Gateway Community & Technical College. Dr. Figueroa is also a 'Friend of LINK'. Dr. Figueroa discusses Gateway's history, challenging stigmas in community and technical education, and what kind of students make up Gateway's student body.

Dr. Figueroa challenges the incorrect perspective that community and technical college students just 'didn't have the work ethic' to make it at a traditional college or university. He dives into the partnership between Gateway and its students, many of whom have faced challenges in obtaining their education, how this is becoming more and more common as future generations pursue their education, and how rewarding it is for Dr. Figueroa to see these students succeed against all odds.
