Marlina moved from New York City to the Twin Cities with her daughter in the early 90's and was welcomed with open arms by a community of Asian American dreamers. What started as potluck dinners, soon grew into a flourishing community of artists that organized the Asian American Cultural Renaissance Conference, the Don't Buy Miss Saigon protests and more.
