Worship God with Song

• Most people have opinions about music (including church). We can’t let opinions about music get in the way of worshiping God.
• Your heart will worship, aim that thing at Jesus.
• The Psalmist tells us that worship is good for us. It is fitting.

Because of His Word

• God’s word is true.
• “For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.”
• “He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.”

Because of His Power

• The Psalmist goes on to say that we also worship God because of his power.
• God’s word is truth, and it also gets things done.
• “Don’t count on your warhorse to give you victory - for all its strength, it cannot save you.”
• “But the Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.”

Because He is Hope

• We can hope in all kinds of things but only God brings hope that is eternal and sure.

• What sources do people look to for truth instead of God’s word? What happens when there is no absolute truth?
• What kinds of things do people put their hope in? How is that working?
• Why is it sometimes hard to believe that God is in total control of everything? (That he is sovereign).
