The stories we craft for ourselves wield significant influence over the course of our lives. These tales can either serve as roadblocks to personal growth or act as catalysts, inspiring us to pivot and follow a route that leads us back to the aspirations of our youth or emboldens us to embrace unfamiliar territories we might have previously avoided.

This conversation is shared with Kathi Seiden-Thomas who is a strategic partnership specialist with over twenty years of experience co-creating with multi-sector partners in the areas of health and wellness, racial justice, education, gender equity and community development in the U.S. and throughout the world. With her South African sister friend, she co-founded Whose Stories Will We Hear, a project that aims to uplift stories of the African continent. She sees “Whose Stories Will We Hear” as a vehicle to help disrupt stereotypes and shift harmful narratives that many have of Africans and Africa.
