Hey there, beach lovers!
Are you ready for some fun in the sun at your favorite spots in New York? Let's dive into the surf zone forecast, so you can catch those perfect waves safely!
First up, for all you Brooklyn surfers hitting up Coney Island Beach and Manhattan Beach:
Today, expect some moderate rip currents with around 4 feet of surf height, sunny skies, and high temperatures in the lower 80s. Keep an eye out for those west winds blowing at 15 to 20 miles per hour! And hey, don't forget that high UV Index, so slather on that sunscreen.
Moving on to Southern Queens at Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach:
Similar conditions with moderate rip currents, 4-foot surf heights, and that very high UV Index. Enjoy the upper 70s temperatures and those west winds at 15 to 20 miles per hour. It's beach time!
And for you Southern Nassau beachgoers at Atlantic Beach, Long Beach, Lido Beach, and Jones Beach:
Moderate rip currents, 4-foot surf heights, and upper 70s temperatures await you. Along with sunny skies and those west winds at around 15 miles per hour. Get ready to soak up the sun!
Now, down in Southwestern Suffolk at Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park:
Moderate rip currents, 4-foot surf heights, and a very high UV Index are on tap. Enjoy the mid-70s temperatures, sunny skies (after some morning clouds), and those southwest winds at 15 miles per hour. Get your boards ready!
Lastly, in Southeastern Suffolk at Smith Point, Cupsogue Beach, Hither Hills State Park, and Ditch Plains:
Expect some moderate rip currents with around 5 feet of surf height. Mostly sunny skies, mid-70s temperatures, and those southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Perfect conditions for catching some waves!
Remember, safety first! Keep an eye out for rip currents, have a flotation device handy, and always swim near a lifeguard. And hey, if you're caught in a rip current, relax and float - don't fight it!
Catch those waves, stay safe, and have a blast at the beach! Until next time, surf's up, folks!
