Hey there surfers! Time to check out what the waves have in store for us in New York!
Let's kick things off with Kings (Brooklyn), where we're looking at a low rip current risk today. Surf height is ranging from 1 to 2 feet with a very high UV Index. Expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 70s, and west winds around 10 miles per hour. It's beach time!
Moving on to Southern Queens, including Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach, we're seeing similar conditions with a low rip current risk, 1 to 2 feet surf height, and a very high UV Index. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s with a gentle breeze from the west at 10 miles per hour. Perfect beach weather ahead!
Now, let's head over to Southern Nassau, with beaches like Atlantic Beach and Jones Beach. Again, a low rip current risk, 1 to 2 feet surf height, and very high UV Index. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s, so get ready to soak up the sun with west winds around 10 miles per hour.
Wrapping it up in Southwestern Suffolk, where we have a moderate rip current risk today but improving to low in the afternoon. Surf height around 2 feet, very high UV Index, lower 60s surf temperature, and west winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Remember your flotation device and stay near a lifeguard!
Lastly, Southeastern Suffolk, including Smith Point and Cupsogue Beach, presents a moderate rip current risk, 2 to 3 feet surf height, and very high UV Index. Temperatures will be in the lower 70s with a west wind around 10 miles per hour. Stay safe and have a blast catching those waves!
