Hey Surfers! Ready to catch some waves and soak up the sun? Let's dive into the surf zone forecast for New York, ME!
Today, the surf's sitting cozy at around 2 feet with a moderate risk of rip currents. So, keep an eye out for any strong currents if you're hitting up Coney Island Beach or Manhattan Beach. The UV index is high, meaning you'll need that sunscreen handy. And guess what? The weather's looking sunny with highs in the mid 70s. Winds starting from the Northeast and shifting to the southeast later in the day. Don't forget to check out the tides - high at 9:18 AM and low at 3:15 PM. Sunrise at 6:25 AM and sunset at 7:25 PM.
Tomorrow, expect the surf to pick up a bit, ranging from 3 to 4 feet with a moderate risk of rip currents. The weather's still sunny with temps in the mid 70s and a nice east wind at 10 to 15 mph.
As we roll into the weekend, Friday is looking mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70s and northeast winds around 10 mph. Saturday brings a mix of clouds with a chance of showers and maybe even some thunderstorms, so keep an eye out. Highs in the mid 70s with southeast winds around 15 mph. For Sunday, it's back to sunny skies with highs in the mid 70s and northwest winds around 15 mph.
Remember, always stay safe in the surf zone! Keep an eye on those rip currents, have a flotation device with you, and swim near a lifeguard. And if you find yourself caught in a rip current, relax and float - don't fight it!
So, grab your boards, slather on that sunscreen, and get ready for some fun in the sun out there at the New York beaches. Catch you in the surf!
