Ep. 52- Redefining Success: The Journey from CEO Aspirations to Family Fulfillment with Kenzie Wilson
Manage episode 408959952 series 3564739
We’ve all had a vision in our minds of what success looks like. For some, it may be being the best at your craft or job, for others it may be a specific title or accolade, and for some, it may be something more simplistic. No matter what, everyone has a vision and idea of success. In today’s episode, I speak with Kenzie Wilson who is a Texas educator and someone who viewed success in one light, and completely transformed her vision of what success really means after becoming a mother. This episode is slightly different than most of our episodes, but it provides an outlook on redefining success and understanding that happiness can come from the simple things in life and our accomplishments are more than a fancy title to our name.
Kenzie Wilson shares her journey of redefining success and finding happiness. Growing up in a small town, Kenzie always had the vision of becoming a CEO and climbing the corporate ladder. However, becoming a mother and experiencing the joys and challenges of raising children shifted her perspective on success. She realized that success can be found in the simplicity of life and in being present for her family. Kenzie now works as a college career and military readiness advisor, helping high school students define their own version of success. She encourages them to focus on what truly matters to them and not compare themselves to others. In this conversation, Kenzie discusses the importance of competing against oneself and striving to be better than the person she was yesterday. She emphasizes the need to focus on personal growth rather than comparing oneself to others. Kenzie also shares the idea of looking ahead and chasing the person she wants to be in the future.
