Welcome to episode one of the More Than Your Number podcast. This podcast is focused on using the enneagram as it was intended, as a map for personal growth.
In this episode I am joined by Yelena Szatmary. She inspired me to start this podcast because of her experiences as a Ukrainian woman moving out of Ukraine while on a visit from California. She had to make some very tough decisions and how her enneagram type impacted her decisions and also gave her awareness of what was going on with her during that incredibly stressful time.
We discuss what it’s like to be Ukrainian and what it’s like to have to make the choices she did with her son and husband back in California, through the lens of the enneagram.
Yelena was born and raised in Ukraine. She came to the United States 27 years ago. She lived in Ann Arbor, MI for 15 years raising her son and working for a data company. Yelena moved to California to continue her career in the tech industry as a product manager.
Her free time is dedicated to hiking the Californian trails with her friends and family. Yelena prefers challenges so the higher the climb and the harder the trail the better for her. But she also helps other women to get outdoors and start exploring nature in California. In this case Yelena carefully chooses the trails that would make people want to come back.
The recent war in Ukraine changed the lives of Ukrainians everywhere. Yelena became a volunteer for NovaUkraine.org and helping her homeland to survive, to win and then rebuild.

P.S. The Doors to my new 9-week class, Emerging Self-Awareness are now open!
Next week I’ll be working with a new cohort inside a 9-week, online, group coaching and educational experience, Emerging Self-Awareness.
In this nine week course we examine Instinctual Sequences and how they impact our behavior, blind spots for each of the Nine types and best yet - practical suggestions for bringing our instincts into better balance AND how to integrate our blind spots.
The program includes weekly learning content (recorded sessions and workbooks) as well as two live classes per week. Live classes take place on Tuesdays at noon and Wednesdays at 9am (same material, two attendance options) for 75 minutes. It also includes access to our private Facebook group where we offer additional resources and an opportunity to interact with other Enneagram enthusiasts who are as passionate as you are about learning all things Enneagram related.
Class begins on May 9th and I'd love for you to join me!
