Warning: This episode contains the stories of First Nations Australians who have since passed.

What value is attached to a human life and how much do we sympathise with victims comes down to how much we can relate to them? And who does the legal system serve to protect in crimes largest cases and who does it neglect?

On today’s episode of Motive & Method, Tim & Xanthe speak to one of Australia's more respected homicide detectives, Gary Jubelin.

Gary Jubelin was involved for years in investigating the Bowraville Murders - a currently open case which saw three missing Aboriginal children murdered in a small town over a five month period between 1990 and 1991.

To find out more about Gary, listen to I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land and pay respects to our Elders both past and present of the Eora nation on which this podcast has been recorded.

We would also like to pay respect to the Gymbaynggir people to whom the stories of these tragedies in this episode have occurred and hope through greater awareness, restitution, peace and justice can be brought to the families and communities of those who have suffered.
