Judgment Is Coming-Revelation Chapter 1

The book of Revelation concerns the unveiling or appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It is not the unfolding of the story of John the apostle,

We see that Revelation was given to Jesus Christ by God the Father as is everything else

For Jesus said all things are delivered unto me of my father Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

They are presented to him to show unto his servant things which must shortly come to pass

the term shortly means quickly once there is a beginning

this certainly pictures the present hour when signs pointing to Jesus's return are beginning to appear with alarming frequency

So then these truths in Revelation are given to John to signify through Christ Jesus under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost things to come

when we take notice the first four letters of the word signify spell the word sign

why is that?

Because the book of Revelation is also the study of signs

there is the sign of the Holy Spirit presented as the seven spirits in verse 4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

and the sign of the seven golden candlesticks and the seven stars

so through the signs, we will come to understand this glorious revealed portion of Scripture
