We are back with another February episode of Mouth-Off (two in one month - you lucky people!). In this episode, I interview freelance opera director/producer, participatory arts facilitator, creative director of Operasonic and newly appointed chief executive of Anthem Rhian Hutchings.

We talk about a range of topics from elitism in opera, gender imbalance in the field of directing and Chartism; to Welsh pride, accessibility in mainstream theatre and Joni Mitchell. Rhian also discusses a seminal song that has had a deep impact on her.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Theme music: Intro and Outro by Clary Saddler

Featuring:

Witness to an Opera - lyrics written by Dominc Chad, music written by Paul Draper, and performed by Mansun (taken from YouTube)

Amelia - written and performed by Joni Mitchell (taken from YouTube)
