In this episode, Guest Co-Host Jeff Harris (Behind The Grooves) and me discuss the ascent of Michael Jackson as a solo artist via his first two solo albums, 1979's Off The Wall, and its follow-up, 1982's Thriller, which went on to become one of the biggest selling albums of all-time.
We discuss how both albums set the stage for "The Jacko Juggernaut," as young Michael Jackson went from being a child music star with his brothers, to a young adult who launched a solo career that would establish him as not only a superstar, but a juggernaut, who would go to heights in the music industry that went even beyond that of being a superstar.
We talk up all the behind the scenes trivia, and delve into the music and magic that Michael, producer Quincy Jones, and some of the best studio musicians of the time created together. And as always, more that few trips sideways are taken as we talk up this timeless music!
