In this episode, I interviewed Donna Halper, who, in addition to being a pioneering female voice on radio, championed the cause of one of the greatest progressive rock bands of all-time, Rush.
As a young program director, she came upon the band's self-titled debut as a Canadian import, and was drawn to the incredible music on it. Thus begins a story of Rush's ascent, as well as Donna's ascent from being a woman in the male dominated field of radio to a program director who was able to help young bands like Rush find their way to the FM airwaves.
Donna holds nothing back, relating a story that not only ended up in success for Rush, but in a lasting friendship with the band that continues to this day. Donna tells one hell of a story and if you're a fan of Rush -- or just great success stories -- you need to listen to this episode!
