Justin is a maker. His work is his play and he’s got a lot to say about the roles of audio in augmented and virtual realities and, subsequently, the roles of VR and AR in music! In this series of interviews recorded at the Digilogue this was actually the very first so we got to know Justin over the course of a few days and I don’t doubt that we will be inviting him back one day. Justin demoed an augmented reality experience for us that not only allowed you to escape to a beautiful beach in Puerto Rico - but within that AR experience you got to manipulate and control a 3D audio experience for yourself because the accompanying music and the individual instrumentation would respond to your spatial coordinates making it feel like a live performance in an augmented world. Okay - I know - what are you even talking about Davin? Even as I type the words it sounds like I am speaking in code and I imagine this is how Justin must feel because he creates in spaces that, at the moment, can only be understood when experienced and can hardly be described in English. But alas we do our very best in this interview and I promise Justin articulates his work way better than me so without further ado...Justin Muñoz!
